Todd is joined by Professor Jack Flam to discuss the parallel lives of Matisse and Picasso. He tells Todd about their friendship, rivalry, similarities and differences. Flam is professor of art and art history at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and author of "Matisse and Picasso: The Story of Their Rivalry and Friendship."

Todd talks to Dr. Thomas Lessl, Professor of speech communication at the University of Georgia. Dr. Lessl, who studies the use of symbols, tells Todd about his study of car fish and the different reasons why people display them.

Our music reviewer, Jim DeRogatis, returns to the show to discuss Audioslave's self- titled debut album, as well as Nick Cave's new album, "Nocturama". Derogatis also tells Todd about the classic Jane's Addiction album, "Ritual de lo Habitual". Derogatis is the music critic for the "Chicago Sun-Times".
